January 2012 Visa Bulletin released; EB-2 category surges |

The Department of State has released the Visa Bulletin for January 2012: http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5630.html . As predicted, the family-based categories and EB-3 categories have moved forward one month. The EB-2 category for China and India has surged forward nearly a year, to January 1, 2009. These EB-2 categories are expected to retrogress within the year, so EB-2 individuals current on the new visa bulletin are recommended to file as soon as possible in January.
